When Apple Watch was launched on April 24, it was available for sale online in Australia, China, Canada, Germany, France, Japan, Hong Kong, US and UK. Apple is now working towards the launch of Apple Watch at retail stores and the company said native apps that works directly on the smartwatch will be possible this fall, reports 9 to 5 Mac. The publication quoted Apple saying, “A ‘curated selection’ of models will also be available at 10 Corso Como in Milan, Boontheshop Cheongdam in Seoul and Malmaison by The Hour Glass in Singapore.”

Based on the average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Bloomberg, Apple Watch sales numbers may reach over 14 million units in the fiscal year ending in September, according to The Sydney Morning Herald. Apple customers were allowed to demonstrate the Apple Watch in Apple Stores since April 10, the day when the company started accepting online pre-orders, reports the same publication.

Going by the numbers shared by online commerce market research firm, Slice Intelligence, out of 1.7 million Apple Watches ordered, only 376,000 units were delivered to consumers in the United States on April 24, the date scheduled for Apple Watch’s launch. The research firm also said that shipment of the remaining 547,000 watches is likely to happen between April 27 and June 11.

"The response to Apple Watch has surpassed our expectations in every way," a Reuters report quoted Jeff Williams, senior vice president of operations, as saying. "We're also making great progress with the backlog of Apple Watch orders," Williams added.
