Apple Inc. has rejected Samsung's offer for a settlement to sell Samsung Galaxy Tab to the Australian market. The tablet was blocked from an Australian release because Apple has claimed that the Samsung Galaxy has copied the design of their iPad and iPhone designs.

The Galaxy line of smartphones and tablets is the greatest competitor for Apple's iPhone and iPad. They are powered by the Android Operating System and have most of the functionality similar to Apple's iOS operated devices.

The patent battle between Samsung and Apple has gone global with the German market being closed to Samsung's Galaxy Tab and Samsung smartphones being blocked in the Netherlands. A win in the Australian court in favor of Apple will hurt Samsung's ability to compete with Apple. There is also another pending case between the two in the US court.

"It is one we don't accept and there is no surprise," Steven Burley, Apple Inc's attorney said to the court. Samsung has approached Apple last week to offer a settlement for a way to launch the new Galaxy Tab in Australia as fast as they can.

Apple has declared that there is no basis for settlement with Samsung. The company have been pressing the court to allow their tablets to launch. Last week, they have told a federal court judge that it intended to launch the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 that coming Friday. Now the company said that the chances of an immediate settlement looks bleak.

Apple claims that Samsung has copied the iPhone and iPad's design and patents. The iconic look and feel of the iPhone and iPad has taken millions of the company's asset to design and they are not about to let it be copied by anyone.

Samsung is also one of the main suppliers of Apple for their devices including the iMac, iPod, iPhone and iPad. The company has also seen its smartphone sales rise for the second quarter overtaking Apple's sale of iPhone. This might have cemented Samsung's status to Apple as a threat.
