It is not only Motorola's electronic tattoo which is still being developed that has the potential of being the mark of the beast. Another technology being developed in an American university is an implantable sensor that could detect the very early stages of organ transplant rejection.

The mark refers to a tattoo, brand or microchip implant which would be the sign of the anti-Christ and used for controlling people during the endtimes.

Paul Berger, professor of electrical and computer engineering and physics at Ohio State University, initially wanted to come up with an insertable sensor to detect protein's presence that are markers of first sign or organ rejection.

However, their initial material uses silicon, which needs a coating to protect it and allow the sensor to function when it directly touches blood, body fluids or living tissue. But electrolytes inside the body such as sodium and potassium control nerves and muscles and maintain hydration by carrying a positive or negative electric charge that causes important chemical reaction.

The negative or positive charges, though, are attractive to silicon which absorbs them readily, but once inside, alters the electronic behaviour of the silicon which makes its readings unreliable.

Other options would be to develop other semiconductors that would work in the body, although it would be more expensive and more difficult to manufacture. But the team tried blocking the electrolytes from entering silicon using a layer of aluminum oxide.

To test their theory, the researchers submerged the coated test sensors in fluid for a day, removed them from the liquid and ran a voltage to check if the sensors were working properly.

With the test showing the sensors are still fully functional, the next step is to develop a device using the technology to detect certain proteins the body produces as indicators of rejection of a transplanted organ. It could be inserted through a needle into the patient's body near the site of the implanted organ.

While Mr Berger's team have noble aims of helping patients with transplanted organs, definitely several steps higher than Motorola's intention to just do away with remembering passwords, what both technologies have is the potential by the anti-Christ or other groups with sinister plans to tap these technologies to gain global dominance.

Although different Christian groups have varying interpretations of what would really be the mark of the beast, Bible scholar are in agreement that it will be a recognisable sign for those who will voluntarily opt to be a disciple of the anti-Christ.
