“Arrow” season 5 sees Oliver (Stephen Amell) facing the consequences of decisions that he made in the past. In the next episode of the series, titled “Fighting Fire with Fire,” the mayor will be fighting to keep his mayorship. Aside from this, fans may look forward to seeing some romance in action or at least get a whiff of it. Previously, Amell has talked about the possibility of Oliver and Felicity’s love story to have a second chance.

It is likely that “Arrow” season 5 episode 15 will see the end of Oliver’s administration in Star City. In the last episode, it was exposed that the mayor instructed Adrian Chase (Josh Segarra) to keep the involvement of the Green Arrow in the death of Detective Billy Malone (Tyler Ritter) a secret.

Aside from whether or not he will remain as mayor of the city, fans would look forward to seeing what would happen to the main protagonist’s love life. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Amell has teased about the possibility of his character and Felicity having a second chance at love.

When asked if he thinks the two characters can be back in the arms of each other again, Amell seems to have a sure answer. “Sure. Of course,” he replied. Avid viewers of the show may recall that the reason why their relationship failed was due to lack of trust. Felicity chose to walk away and Oliver did not stop her. The former discovered Oliver's lies as he held a fake wedding in the name of crime-fighting. The couple then called off their engagement permanently. “I can’t be with you, I can’t marry you,” she told Oliver.

But the actor believes that in television, issues like this can be resolved. “I mean, we live in a television world. Fences can always be mended,” he told EW.

In order to get a second chance at love, Oliver has to escape death first. In the promotional clip for "Fighting Fire with Fire,” the Vigilante is seen hunting him. He wants to kill Oliver because he thinks he is a corrupt mayor and he seeks to end corruption. It is most likely that the main character will make it through the season alive, but it seems he won’t keep his position as mayor forever.

The series is executive produced by Wendy Mericle, Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim, Andrew Kreisberg and Sarah Schechter. Fans will be delighted to know that a sixth season of the series is sure to happen as the CW announced that it ordered another instalment.

“Arrow” season 5 airs Tuesdays at 8:10 a.m. The second half of “Arrow” season 5 has premiered Jan. 25 on the CW in the US.
