Arsenal are currently occupying the number one spot in the English Premier League, as well as their group in the Champions League, and Gunners midfielder Jack Wilshere attributes their success on the pitch to the cohesiveness of the team.

"It [our team spirit] is massive," he told arsenal.com.

"We've been out a few times. We didn't do it for a couple of years but over the last six months we go out for team dinners and we meet up outside of football, which is good for the team."

As an athlete in team sport, focusing on the personal and team's objectives day in and day out is one thing, but getting away from it all, once in a while, also contributes to the progress positively.

"Sometimes you just want to get away from football, you want to sit down and talk about life, your family and things like that. We've been doing that this season and it's really showing on the pitch," he added.

"We've done really well this season and towards the end of last season; I think the team spirit plays a massive part in that."

Personal bond is, more often than not, overlooked and underestimated in this day and age wherein individual performances may be enhanced by various scientific programs, but chemistry is as essential as any of the elements of team sport.
