Ashton Kutcher Gives Touching Surprise To Mom Ahead Of Mother's Day

Ashton Kutcher already gave his mom her mother’s day gift ahead of the special day: a renovated basement. Diane, his mom, got teary-eyed over the renovation.

Kutcher, in a collaboration with Houzz.com, made his mom’s wish come true by turning the basement of his childhood home in Homestead, Iowa spanking new and livable again. All the hard work was carried out just within a month’s time. Kutcher’s stepfather, who helped built the house more than two decades ago, also assisted with the process. The basement is now liveable, with Diane’s antiques and canned salsas in full display.

The mother was overfilled with joy and even teared up when surprised with it. She said it’s just “awesome” and that she would surely be “blubbering for months.” The whole touching gesture was captured as the pilot episode for a new web series titled “My Houzz.”

For Kutcher, the basement is nothing compared to what his mom did for him. “My mom has been like the greatest influence in my life and anything I can do to say thank you is the right thing to do,” said Mila Kunis’ husband. Now a father himself, Kutcher said that nothing he does now to show his gratitude to his mom would ever be enough for all the sacrifices his mom did for him as he goes for his dream of being an actor. He said being able to pay back feels like a “lifelong dream.” He said he grew up with a good parent and he could not be grateful enough. It may be difficult to pay his mom for everything that she has done for him, but the actor said it feels good to try.

Apart from showing how good a son he is, he also showed how great a husband he is to Mila Kunis. Mila was slapped with a lawsuit from a childhood friend claiming the actress stole her pet chicken and caused her distress and Ashton was there to laugh the issue off with her. Mila brushed off the issue and said she should be the one suing for the distress the lawsuit is causing her.
