Assassin's Creed 3: Popular Game Shows ‘Other Side’ of Benjamin Franklin (Trailer Video)
As if game enthusiasts are not nerdy enough, Assassin's Creed 3 comes with another encounter with a real life genius.
Benjamin Franklin, the scientist who invented the lightning rod and one of the Founding Fathers of the United States, can be seen in the much-anticipated Assassin's Creed 3.
However, Mr Franklin may not come off in AC3 as the textbooks had presented him to be. Ubisoft dug up a little more into the gentleman's other side, and thought it might be good to play up his love of women for a change.
"So we got him in a little bit, we went with the more unusual sides of him. Like his love of women," creative director Alex Hutchinson told PA Report in an interview.
There goes all the hopes of having Mr Franklin supply the players with some ingenuous gadgets.
"He said that women dry out, but they dry out from the top down, and therefore the bits that you need never dry out. I know we're going to get [some flak], but this is all public record," Mr Hutchinson further told PA Report.
Players may or may not care about the authenticity of Mr Franklin's characterization in the upcoming AC edition. But Ubisoft maintains that in case the depiction of the scientist's depiction drew flak, critics could always go back to public record to see where the game firm got the idea.
In AC2, another giant personality from the past made an appearance: Leonardo da Vinci. He supplied the player with gadgets.
The following video shows the World Gameplay premiere of Assassin's Creed 3. This AC3 video has so far gathered nearly two million views on YouTube.
