Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag is slowly taking flight as more information and add-ons for pre-orders are officially announced.

According to an official statement by Ubisoft, it will feature its first VIP program called The Watch, which will be part of the Assassin's Community and made available to players who will pre-order the game either via online or retail stores.

Among the exclusive features that players can enjoy through The Watch include the latest news on upcoming events, shows, and releases regarding Assassin's Creed 4, in-depth features related to the game, and an Assassin's Creed 4 universe dedicated to fans who want to explore the game further with other members or upload and share content.

For those who are looking for more things to do with Assassin's Creed 4, The Watch lets members in on unlocking missions, bonuses, and rewards, reports Joystiq. There will even be global leaderboards for the more competitive. It's a great way to bring up the AC4 hype one level higher as its release comes closer.

Thief now headed to Xbox 720?

The list of games headed for the Xbox 720 is still growing as Thief becomes an additional title for the next-gen console.

According to Video Gamer, comments surrounding the development of the game has been revealed by Simon Pichette, senior level artist at Eidos Montreal, who had stated that Thief is in development for PS4, the Xbox 720, and the PC.

Whether this is a deliberate slip-up to get the Xbox 720 hype for its May 21 event going, or if this is really a mistake on the part of the developers, what's important is confirming whether this is true or not. And hopefully, either the Microsoft's May 21 Xbox event or the much-awaited E3 2013 in June will shed more light in the matter.

Next-gen titles: On exclusivity

With more titles being revealed for the next-gen consoles, it seems that the matter of what's exclusive for which console may be the difference that would attract the gamers towards the console of their choice.

Most of the released next-gen titles have been touted for both the Xbox 720 and the PS4. This means that, aside from the similarity in specs, there's also the similarity in games being offered, which may make it harder for the consoles to predict who will best the other.

According to Gaming Bolt, Graham Smith, founder of DrinkBox Studios, securing exclusive titles should be the next agenda for Sony and Microsoft--and not just any exclusives, but ones that would catch the attention of gamers.

"To really be a success, I think they each need to secure desirable exclusive content for their systems that take advantage of the next-gen features they are offering,' said Smith to Gaming Bolt. "Though DrinkBox Studios has produced games largely for the PS3 and PS Vita, this isn't a guarantee of exclusivity going forward."

Of course, it's common sense and practice for developers to pitch for games for both consoles, not just for the profit but also to ensure that fans are not alienated from the game based on consoles.

In line with this, Nnooo, the Australian studio, has just announced that it will be developing a game for the PS4 and PS Vita. A title has not yet been released, but the escapeVektor developer says that work has already started since they got their PS4 dev kits.

"We're still at an early stage of development of our new game, said Nic Watt, Nnooo creative director, to Joystiq. "We don't want to announce anything until we are more advanced with the project. Hopefully, we'll be able to say something around the middle of the year."

Whether Nnooo's new game will be a PS exclusive or if it will only feature exclusive content for the console is still up for confirmation, but it seems that Sony is wasting no time trying to secure more developments and exclusives. Will this be the turning point for the PS4 to best the Xbox 720?
