Asus to Launch Zenfone 4, 5 and 6 on 11 April in China; Specs Details Reuters

Asus has confirmed that five of its smartphones will soon be getting Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The company listed the names of the smartphone models that are going to get the update.

The handsets in the list are the ZenFone 2, ZenFone 2 Deluxe Special Edition, ZenFone Selfie, ZenFone 2 Laser and the PadFone S.

Clearly, Asus is making sure many of its smartphones get Android's latest OS update. Unfortunately for models not included in the list, it appears it’s highly unlikely they’re going to get their share of the update, according to Phone Arena.

Sadly, Asus didn’t give away any details with regards to Marshmallow's potential release date. Even the company's forum page is void of clues on when the update is going to be released. Consumers can only speculate.

Plus, the features the update will bring weren’t mentioned in the company's announcement. Users of Asus smartphones not on the list clearly have more waiting to do.

Although Asus didn’t confirm any Android 6.0 Marshmallow features for its smartphones, the Internet is abuzz with reports about the changes the update carries. Marshmallow's new features include an improved version of Google Now; native support for fingerprint scanners; a more granular app permission system and extended support for MicroSD cards.

Android 6.0 Marshmallow is basically an improved version of Android's Lollipop OS. To know more about all of the features present with the Android 6.0 Marshmallow, the Internet is filled with update reviews such as the one Phone Arena provided.
