Asus Padfone Mini Benchmarkt Test Sighted: Asus Padfone Mini vs Apple's iPad Mini 2
Asus continues to be on a roll. The company has released a multitude of computing devices for the good part of the year but it does not seem satisfied. According to a recent leak, Asus may be developing an Asus Padfone Mini. The Padfone Mini may compete against Apple's recently announced iPad Mini 2. Can the company go up against the tech giant?
Asus already got the Transformer Book, first and second generation Nexus 7 under its name among others. The successful partnership between Google, allowed Asus to improve its market position greatly. The company has been successful in putting out quality products.
This time, a benchmark test sighted hints that Asus is working on a Padfone Mini. The device will offer a tablet and phone combo to the market. As trends indicate, both tablet and phone products have been scaling down immensely. This can be good use to some manufacturers but also a window for failure.
Asus needs to get the devices right. The competition today is very stiff. More and more companies are joining the tablet and smartphone market. Research indicates the sales for tablets and phones continue to increase but there is also high risk of market saturation.
According to the leak, the Padfone will feature a 4-inch screen. It will also be seating on the rear of a 7-inch slate. The first generation Padfone sports a 5-inch screen and sits on the back of a 10-inch tablet. However, analysts also warn about scaling down gadgets. Usually, scaling down does not stop with the size. The specs may be affected as well.
The device has been sighted in GFXBench testing. It was labeled Padfone T00C. It runs on Android 4.3 plus a 1.4GHz processor. Contrary to other reports, the device offers a resolution far from ultrabooks. The pixel support is at 960 x 540. The resolution is more apt for a smaller device or below 7 inches. Nonetheless, analysts do not think Asus will go lower than 7 inches.
People will have to wait for the official announcement from Asus for final specs. The terms "mini" and "max" have prevalent among tech products these days. It seems Asus is catching up with the trend.
