If Asus thought that people would be intrigued by their combination of phone in a tablet then they would be right. The PadFone with a new Android smartphone docked into the back of its larger screened tablet companion has proved to be unusual enough that people are looking forward to the big reveal at Computex in Taiwan tomorrow.

Judging by the leaked pictures from pocketnow.com, the PadFone will have a tablet that allows a smartphone to dock into the back of the tablet. The small door closes behind the phone and covers it. Asus hasn't released much information about the device beyond plugging it tagline of "Break the Rules: Pad or Phone". The tablet looks like it could be folded with a keyboard inside.

Regardless of the specs, Asus will definitely find the customers for this product. Professionals are finding it hard to juggle several different gadgets and this could be the solution to an overcrowded briefcase. If the PadFone system uses a dual core processor that will run both the smartphone and the table then there will just be one cellphone bill to pay.

Another point to speculate on is if the table doesn't have a key board then it could support the Eee Pad Transformer keyboard dock. Not only will this strange little device be a smartphone-table hybrid it can be notebook-tablet-phone hybrid. Who needs to carry a laptop, phone or tablet anymore? Asus could have it all for you in one device.
