Asus Updates Zenfone 4, Zenfone 5, And Zenfone 6 With Android 4.4 KitKat
Asus entered the smartphone market by launching a series of Android smartphones under the brand name Zenfone. This year, Asus has launched three handsets, namely, Zenfone 4, Zenfone 5 and ZenFone 6.
When the Zenfone handsets were released, they were shipped with Android v4.3 JellyBean OS. Recently, ASUS has revealed through its Twitter account that the Android 4.4 KitKat update for Asus Zenfone 4 is now available.
Few hours after releasing the Android update for Zenfone 4 (A400CG), Asus has also released the Android 4.4 KitKat update for Zenfone 5 (A500/A501CG) and Zenfone 6 (A600/A601CG). As of now, the update is only available in Taiwan and China. FoneArena claims that the new Android update will be available to other countries soon.
After installing the update, Zenfone users can expect new features on their devices such as call blocking, full dual standby modes for dual SIM Zenfone editions, Do Not Disturb mode and more. The Extended Easy Mode will contain Contacts, Call Log, Dialer and other apps. The Zen UI Launcher will also get an update that will allow users to see notifications like missed calls, new emails and SMS from VIP contacts.
The update will also improve the device's camera capabilities. It brings the new automatic image stabilisation feature and video filters. GSMArena claims that the update size is 456 MB, so users need to make sure the handset's battery is fully charged and it is connected to Wi-Fi to successfully install the new update.
The Asus Zenfone 4 is the cheapest among the three Zenfone models and is one of the major rivals of Moto E. The Zenfone 5 is a mid-range phone that has impressive specs to compete with Moto G 2014. Meanwhile, the Zenfone 6 has high-end specs that can take on the likes of HTC 816, Xiaomi Mi 3 and many others. All three Zenfone models are available in vibrant colours: black, white, red, and gold and purple.
