The biggest of the three Nexus products will come to stores soon. Asus and Google paired up once more to produce a refreshed version of the Nexus 10. Will the partnership prove successful just like in the Nexus 7?

The Nexus program under Google appears to be a bidding war that goes through several stages. A number of companies will submit their designs to Google and the tech giant evaluates these to pick which firm should create and carry their Nexus brand. The Nexus program provides a good idea on what Google wants to Android.

The company wants a platform free from OEM software and carrier modifications.

In 2012, Google expanded the Nexus line with a 7-inch and 10-inch tablet. Samsung manufactured the initial Nexus 10 leading to an impressive device for an affordable price. The most notable feature of the Nexus 10 then was the excellent display. Similar to the Nexus 7, the 10-inch tablet will have the same name as its predecessor.

This time, Asus will be manufacturing it.

Many point out the strong and good relationship existing between Google and Asus. Asus already got the deal for the Nexus 7 - an additional Nexus to their name means the company has impressed Google enough to grant it two devices. The first and second generation Nexus 7 is good proofs that Asus can manufacture a high quality tablet.

In fact, the two devices have been the standard of tablets today. Big things are expected from the Nexus 10 now that Google named who will develop and produce it. This demonstrates that Asus has been successful in matching hardware with Google's Android.

First Generation Nexus 10

The Nexus 7 was more popular than the Nexus 7. However, the following months saw an increase in the interest over big screen for tablets. Even Android OS and its applications also started catering to larger screen displays plus higher resolutions. Google will be targeting the Nexus 10 to families. According to reports, Google will be including the Android 4.3 plus multi-user functions to the device. This will appeal to parents who wish to regulate the computer use of their children.

Geek also indicated that the refreshed version of the Nexus 10 will be available in both Best Buy and Google Play Store around the holidays. The tech giant has not given any details about new features or stand out additions to the 10-inch Nexus. However, based from previous offerings and what Google just released, it is most likely the Nexus 10 will be running on Qualcomm's Snapdragon.
