Australia's ODI cricket captain, George Bailey, has been suffering from poor over-rate. While his team continues to keep a great scoring run record, he, on the other hand, has been in poor touch. The batsman admitted his need to promote himself and climb up the ladder of competition in order to level against India in Sydney.

On Friday, Bailey’s poor over-rate banned him from the game against England. During a pre-match conference, Bailey told the media how enjoyable it is to be the captain of his county’s team. He further said that captaining on Australia Day would surely be fun and that it would also cause a real buzz. “That's the nature of the game - you're scoring runs or you're not scoring runs, you get picked or you don't. It's a really basic equation,” George Bailey said.

Bailey always looks up to his group, saying that they've been really batting well. However, there seems to be a lot more pressure for Bailey's performance especially that World Cup is coming too soon.

Other than his poor over-rate, the 32-year-old is also expected to bat at number three come Monday, which is challenging considering that Shane Watson is not back yet due to an injury. On another note, there will always be Mitchell Marsh to save a day from Xavier Doherty on SCG wicket.

George Bailey is not an assuming guy and he knows what to expect. In the upcoming World Cup, he looks forward to batting more, not ruling out the fact that Watson is still out. However, according to Bailey, there would be no big change on their structuring. In fact, it will stay pretty much the same as it were the other day. He further noted the great performance of Mitchell Marsh and said that if he'll be playing, one can only expect him to bowl.
