Aussie Director Talks About Brad Pitt and New Film ‘Killing Them Softly’
A crime film about capitalism, 'Killing Them Softly' is the latest successful film launched at the Cannes Press yesterday done by Aussie director, Andrew Dominik.
According to the director himself, the film is under a genre where characters are driven by motivation of money. Spoken frankly, he said that it portrayed numerous Americans who were the same in Hollywood. Brad Pitt stars in the movie as a mob fixer, along with co-stars Ray Liotta and other actor from down under, Ben Mendelsohn.
As for Pitt, he has always considered violence as a major part of the world of mobsters. Hence, no matter how hard it is for him to play such murderous roles, it is still a practical thing to realize that reality bites. And that violence will always just be a part of the world and an aspect in the movie that need not be forgotten.
The director's last movie was also starred by Brad Pitt and won him the Best Actor prize for the Venice Film Festival in 2007. Dominik admitted that whenever he works with Pitt, they always find themselves fighting and arguing over something. And this is something he loves about working with people as passionate as the Hollywood actor.
