Their relationship may have crumbled after being together for just less than a year, but singer Delta Goodrem insists that she felt genuine love for her younger ex-boyfriend Nick Jonas.

The 27-year-old "Voice Australia" judge opened up to Australia's 60 Minutes show about her 10-month fling with the 19-year-old Disney star. As for her seven-year romance with former Westlife member, Brian McFadden, the Australian songbird confessed that she wished they had parted ways sooner.

"Do I wish that it ended earlier? Yes," she told the 60 Minutes show host Karl Stefanovic. "Do I wish I had the courage to leave earlier? Yes, I do. I think what we came to is that we were very different people - extremely different people," Goodrem further shared.

Goodrem began dating the Jonas Brothers star last year shortly after ending her engagement to Irish singer Brian MCFadden. The "Born To Try" hit maker admits that she jumped into the relationship with Jonas after becoming single again but dismissed the rumors that it was just a rebound romance. Goodrem was also much more expansive referring to her failed engagement to Irish pop singer Brian McFadden.

"I think when your heart's been broken so many times along the way, by the time it really is over, I was exhilarated with the anxiety of freedom, as well. On one hand, it was a real relief. And then I jumped into another relationship that was completely different. Maybe it's that I'm interested in challenges. Maybe I'm one of these spirits who goes, 'Ooh, what is this lesson here? What am I learning here?' There was a genuine love, definitely," Goodrem tells 60 Minutes.

In previous interviews, the singer refused to comment on her relationship with the youngest member of the Jonas Brothers. Now, Goodrem finally opens up and shares about her previous relationship in an interview for the latest issue of Vogue magazine. "I only have good things to say about Nick," Goodrem said.
