She was declared weighing 71.8 kg when named as the second female winner of the Australia’s Channel Ten reality show.
A 25-year old former teen model and now a hairdresser has been named as the big winner for losing almost half of her excess kilos in an Australian reality show, “The Biggest Loser Families”.
Emma Duncan from Newcastle according to The Sydney Morning Herald, lost about 62.1 of the 133.9 kilograms of her recorded weight at the start of the season. She was declared weighing 71.8 kg when named as the second female winner of the Australia’s Channel Ten reality show.
The season’s biggest winner was jumping up and down for joy when greeted by her family and her husband,
But before the smiles Duncan said that there were emotional challenges for being big. The sixth season’s winner shared how people would look at her.
“I felt like going to a shop with a friend, like “What are you doing here? Nothing is gonna fit you! Are you kidding yourself sort of thing?”. You definitely do have people look at you differently when you're big.
“It’s really hard going from being thin to being big,” she said in a statement posted on thebiggestloser.com, “people look at you differently. When you go out to dinner they’re eating a salad, you’re having a steak and you feel bad for it.”
While she lost more than 60 kilos of excess weight, Duncan gained $100,000 for becoming the season’s winner. She intends to share her winnings with her brother and sisters in The Duncans team on the show.
She also told Channel Ten than she would put the money into good use: a vacation for her and her husband and a home to prepare for their future.
"My husband and I are going to a nice overseas holiday. And then we'd put it to a home, in the future we might want to have kids,” Duncan told Channel Ten in an interview.
But starting a family now, she clarified is not part of the plans as she hopes to keep her model-form figure she once had before gaining weight in the last five years.
The biggest winner also noted that it looks like not only will enjoy the reclaimed body shape as her husband has started to also like the idea of ‘the new Emma’.
Duncan said: “He can't keep his hands off me. He loves it, he calls me a trophy wife, actually.”
Emma’s husband could not be happier while watching his wife from the crowd.
"I thought I was happy back then. But I was lying," he was quoted as saying by abc.net.au., adding, “Love it. Hot.”
The couple plans to spend more time travelling as the show’s sixth season for “The Biggest Loser Australia” ended.
“There’s a few places I want to go to before a baby comes - Canada, Alaska and Las Vegas,” the biggest winner said of her plans after the show.
