“Avengers: Age of Ultron” Director Joss Whedon once teased the appearance of another female Marvel character in the sequel. So far only Black Widow, Scarlet Witch and S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Maria Hill have been confirmed. Considering Whedon’s statements, below are four of the possible female characters that may have cameo roles in the sequel.

“There are four prominent female roles in the centre of the movie,” Joss Whedon said during an interview with Hey U Guys. The fourth is still a mystery, and Cinema Blend has listed down three possible female characters who could be involved in “Avengers: Age of Ultron.” They include Sharon Carter a.k.a. Agent 13, Skye from “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” and Tony Stark’s faithful assistant and girlfriend Pepper Potts.

Sharon Carter only had minimal scenes in “Captain America: Winter Soldier,” but it was enough to show viewers how important she will be to Captain Steve Rogers. Thus, according to the site, it’s possible for her to have a cameo role in “Avengers: Age of Ultron” as Cap’s intelligence for a mission, considering she joined the CIA after the fall of S.H.I.E.L.D. in “Winter Soldier.” Her inclusion in the sequel will reportedly at least keep up with her comic book story and also possibly tease her return to “Captain America: Civil War.”

Aside from Sharon Carter, it’s likely also possible for Skye to have a cameo role in the sequel. Previous reports claimed “Avengers: Age of Ultron” will tie in with Marvel’s “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D” series and Skye could supposedly be the link. Currently in the series, she’s reportedly learning the earthquake abilities she gained after her inhuman cells were awaken by the Terrigen Mist. However, with her newfound powers, Skye could join the heroes' battle with Ultron and his army of robots.

If not Sharon Carter or Skye, then Pepper Potts is the likely candidate. There has been no mention whether Gwyneth Paltrow will reprise her role in “Avengers: Age of Ultron.” However, it’s supposedly hard to imagine Tony Stark appearing in the sequel without the most important person in his life.

Marvel president Kevin Feige recently teased the appearance of another female Marvel character in “Avengers: Age of Ultron.” During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, he said the sequel will have a secret female character in a cameo role. However, she may already be familiar to people. There have been reports of this female Marvel character being Black Widow’s ballet instructor and could either be played by confirmed cast members Linda Cardellini or Julie Delpy. This character will reportedly bring a significant role in Black Widow's history.
