The one-minute, 30-second video clip was taken from the CCTV footage at London's Goodge Street underground station.
It showed a man temporarily leaving the stroller with an infant inside to help other family members go down the stairs. However, the wind from a passing train moved the buggy towards the rail track and the pram and the baby fell into the track.
But seconds later, a woman - presumably the mother of the baby - jumps into the track and retrieves the infant and the stroller, after which a train passed by.
Transport police released the footage to help identify the child and the parents and to ensure the infant was not harmed by the accident. The incident actually happened in July, but the video was released only on Tuesday.
