Speaking about working for the first time after her split with ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake, actress Cameron Diaz insisted that the two hit if off while filming their latest film, “Bad Teacher”.

The 'Charlie’s Angels' star admitted that there was hesitations in pairing her with ex-boyfriend but insisted that there was no one else to do the job best other than the “Social Network” star.

"We wanted the best person for the job, and Justin was that person," Diaz was quoted as saying by the Huffington Post in an interview at the CinemaCon convention in Las Vegas.

Cameron continued painting great picture of her ex-beau.

She said, "He's such a great comedian. He's proven himself over and over again. We all knew what he would deliver on this and how great he would be”.

The actress who came to the convention Wednesday to collect an award as ‘female star of the year’ shared everyone’s concern when the plan to team her up with Justin was raised.

"The only thing that I think we were concerned with was what people would make up. The stories that people would make up about us,” Diaz said, according to Huffington Post.

And the actress heaved a sigh of relief when the media ‘behaved themselves’ as she put it, allowing the former couple to work in the romantic comedy film.

“We were hoping that wouldn't happen, because we're there to work, and we didn't want to have to be distracted by any of those things. And fortunately, for the most part, the media behaved themselves,” the star for “The Holiday” said.

Diaz played the lead role for “Bad Teacher”, described by Huffington Post as ‘a cussing, conniving, boozing, even skanky schoolmarm’ often calling her students ‘morons’ as she hands them their test papers. Timberlake plays as the substitute teacher whom Diaz is pursuing to get her hands on in the romantic comedy film that's scheduled to hit the theaters on June 24.
