A recent livestream from Bandai Namco highlighted the PC version of “Tales of Zestiria,” the latest instalment of the “Tales of” games. The stream is now available for viewing and it is a lengthy one, clocking over an hour’s worth of gameplay, all of which is spoiler-free.

Since the video was originally part of a livestream, fans might have to sit through some unnecessary introductions in the game. Siliconera states that fans can skip to seven minutes to get the ball rolling and see the gameplay firsthand.

What differentiates “Zestiria” from other games of the series is the new point of view when travelling, as the camera is now firmly behind the player and the world is open for exploration. The game’s battle system also has a new camera angle and no longer looks like a sidescroller when battles start.

Battles are still action-packed and players still control their desired characters directly, but there are some massive changes. “Tales of Zestiria” brings new fusion-style elements into the game, which seems to power up the characters into unbelievable levels and deal a huge amount of damage. Their physical forms also change during this state, sometimes drastically, and it is a seemingly nice addition to the beloved combat system.

Fans who prefer some old-school “Tales of” games will be happy to know that “Tales of Symphonia HD” is also coming to the PC, Gematsu reports. This is the same port as the one that came with the “Tales of Symphonia Chronicles” collection for PlayStation 3, but without the sequel “Dawn of the New World” accompanying it.

The video switches to “Tales of Symphonia” when fans skip to the hour and 13-minute mark. This part of the game is also mostly spoiler-free and takes place sometime after Kratos has joined Lloyd’s party. The game’s graphics are a bit dated, but the story is still one of the series’ best, which is why it continues to be one of the more beloved instalments of the franchise.

“Tales of Zestiria” is coming to the West next month, on Oct. 20, for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PC. Fans who pre-order the PC version can get “Tales of Symphonia HD” as a bonus and will eventually be able to download it on Steam, sometime next year.
