No matter how much Apple has grown up to combat shoulder to shoulder with its arch rival BlackBerry, U.S. President Barack Obama does not want to consider anything else other than his BlackBerry.

Mr Obama was addressing young spectators on Wednesday as he attempted to promote the trendsetting healthcare law. He confirmed that he continued to use the iPad, the tablet computer from Apple. On the other hand, he has also revealed that he is not permitted to use the iPhone because of 'security reasons', IBN Live reports.

Apparently, Apple could have been one of those companies which gave permission to the National Security Agency for having a direct access to their customer data. At least, that is what NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden claims, even though Apple has denied such an allegation. Mr Obama, on the contrary, has always been a BlackBerry user even though he had a tough time convincing authorities at the White House as he had wanted to keep his phone even after getting elected in 2009.

Mr Obama has revealed that his personal email id is limited to be known to 10 people only. Interestingly, neither Bill Clinton nor George W Bush used electronic mailing service during their tenure at the White House. Canadian company BlackBerry was formerly known as Research in Motion.

Mr Obama's love for his BlackBerry was a much talked-about issue in 2009 when he got elected as the President of the United States. According to the secret service, Mr Obama's insistence on using the BlackBerry posed high security concerns. Nevertheless, the then president-elect emphatically expressed his views in favour of using his BlackBerry. He told CNN that it was his way of connecting to the 'real' American people instead of getting trapped in the presidential 'bubble'.

Mr Obama's recent revelations confirmed that he was not allowed to use his BlackBerry. Does it also mean that he got trapped in the presidential 'bubble' and lost connection with the 'real' Americans? You decide.
