Currently in Wales for his new medieval drama “The Bastard Executioner,” Kurt Sutter recently revealed the show’s new logo on Twitter and Instagram on Wednesday, March 11. A follow up to his hit biker drama series “Sons of Anarchy,” Sutter has set its cast with an unknown Australian theatre actor Lee Jones as his lead.

The new #TBX logo features a medieval design with a sword, a cross and a dragon to complete its 14th century look. The logo “looks downright heavy metal, like theSons Of Anarchy” creator liberated it from some obscure long hair band’s 1982 LP jacket,” according to Deadline.

Now that show has a look and an ensemble cast, “The Bastard Executioner” is currently taking shape in northwest of Cardiff in the village of Llanharan. Sutter is set to begin the show’s production this month together with two of his cast from “Sons of Anarchy,” Katey Sagal (Gemma Teller) as Annora of Alders and Timothy V. Murphy (Galan O’Shay) as Father Ruskin.

“The Bastard Executioner” follows the story of a warrior knight in King Edward I reign of 1272 – 1307 AD. Broken by the ravages of war, the knight laid down his sword and vowed not to kill again but violence forced him to pick up his sword again and this time it’s the bloodiest of all.

His first major role ever, Lee Jones plays the lead as Wilkin Brattle, an emotionally deep and spiritually tortured knight who now lives a simple life. Joining him in the cast is the showrunner himself, Kurt Sutter, as he will play The Dark Mute, a mate and guardian of Annora who speaks rarely and doesn’t show his face.

Filming is set to start on March 19 in Wales with other casts including “True blood” star Stephen Moyer and “Snow White and the Hunstman” actor Sam Spruell. Moyer will play as Milus Corbett, Ventris’ former marshal who is street smart and noble savvy. Now serving as Ventris’ Chamberlain, Chancellor and Justiciar. Spruell will play as Toran Prichard, a fierce and tenacious archer under the Madog Llywelyn in the last major Welsh rebellion, Wilkin’s best mate.

Other stars in the cast include Flora Spencer-Longhurst as Baroness Lowry “Love” Aberffaw Ventris, Darren Evans (“Galavant”) as Ash y Goedwig, Danny Sapani (“Penny Dreadful”) as Berber the Moor, Sarah White as Isabel Kiffin and Sarah Sweeny as Jessamy Maddox. “The American” star Matthew Rhys is also set for a guest-starring role as Gruffudd y Blaidd.
