‘Batman: Arkham Knight’ First Gameplay Footage and More Screenshots Out
Rocksteady's anticipated next-gen game and final installment to the "Arkham" game series is finally seeing light for the first time with the first official trailer, as announced over the official Batman Arkham Twitter.
Titled "Evening the Odds," the in-game footage reveals a Gotham City that is basically run over with crime.

"Scarecrow returns to Gotham City with a scheme to unite the Rogues Gallery and destroy the Batman once and for all. As the citizens of Gotham flee and criminal gangs take control of the city, Batman evens the odds taking to the streets in the legendary Batmobile to ignite the fight that will decide the future of the city that he is sworn to protect."
The sheer amount of detail alone can that be seen in the gameplay trailer is already astounding. This is a good reason why Rocksteady has chosen to limit "Batman: Arkham Knight" to the PS4 and Xbox One release, instead of going for the current-gen consoles as well.
Gamers can catch glimpses of a touched up Batsuit, which is almost a robotic armour as well as the kicking Batmobile. The announced slide and glide motion is evident. It showcases how Batman can cover more ground (and air space) with an easy movement.
The last scene is definitely worth the tease, as it appears to be none other than Arkham Knight, the titular villain who has been originally created for "Batman: Arkham Knight."
CVG adds Arkham Knight was created by Geoff Johns, writer for DC Comics, especially for the "Batman: Arkham Knight" universe. As seen in the trailer, the Arkham Knight is pretty close to Batman as a character, albeit more stiff and combative-looking than the caped crusader.
A previous trailer had also been released, which reveals some of Batman's future enemies, including Harley Quinn, Two Face and Penguin, all of whom will be adding to the chaos in "Batman: Arkham Knight" in addition to the titular villain.
This is the "Father to Son" trailer, which is interesting if only for the focus on the Batmobile.

More Screenshots Feature Batman, Harley Quinn and Gotham
Over at the official Batman Arkham Facebook, a string of new screenshots have also been released.
There's one featuring "the world's greatest detective," showing off not only Batman's new batsuit but also the new gadgets that he'll be working with.
There's also one featuring Harley Quinn in all dolled-up glory, with, of course, the city wreck behind her as a backdrop.
So far, "Batman: Arkham Knight" is looking pretty good. Rocksteady is definitely hitting it hard with the teasers. Fans all around are not only waiting eagerly for the release date (hopefully, later this year) but also starting to speculate on the details, including the latest on the possible identity of the villain Arkham Knight.
