Batman Arkham Knight

“Batman: Arkham Knight” signaled the end of the Arkham series and it was a good final chapter- for the Xbox and Playstation owners at least. The PC version was rendered unplayable by bugs at launch date and it is still unplayable as of now.

The PC release of “Batman: Arkham Knight” was a failed launch at what could be a good game. It was plagued with several issues that made the game mediocre and nearly impossible to play. The game was so bugged, publisher Warner Bros. opted to halt the selling of the PC version of “Batman: Arkham Knight.” Eventually, the game was also pulled out of Steam. But to those who already have the game at hand, all they could do was wait for the right fix.

Just recently, an interim patch was released for testing and it will soon be released to all gamers. The patch will not fix the game entirely but it could provide a playable version of the game.

One of the major fixes in the patch is a reduction in the frame rate hitches. What this means is that the game will not skip frames as much as it did in launch day. Players had a hard time with the game at launch because the game continued to skip frames, regardless of the PC build the player has. Aside from that, the patch will also improve the performance on latest drives which assures that it will run more smoothly. Other fixes include:

  • Optimizations for system memory and VRAM usage
  • More Comprehensive In-Game Settings
  • Fixed low resolution texture bugs
  • Fixed hitches when running on mechanical hard drives (HDD)

Warner Bros. said "We would like to thank everyone for their patience and invaluable feedback," the statement said. "We’ll provide ongoing updates here as they are made available. In the meantime, please enjoy the game with the latest patch."

But of course, there are still other bugs to fix in the game. As of now, Steam is yet to put the game back at the marketplace.

Polygon details what future patches could bring:

  • Adding support for SLI and Crossfire
  • Adding support for the latest DLC & Season Pass content
  • Adding support for additional updates such as Photo Mode
  • Continued improvements and bug fixing for a Windows 7 specific memory issue that occurs on
  • Configurations with 8GB of system RAM and some NVIDIA GPUs during extended game play
  • Continued improvements for Windows 10 specific issues on systems with some AMD GPUs
