2012 is a year of remakes and biopic films. If Marilyn Monroe was brought to life last year by the lovely, Michelle Williams, then who is set to play the infamous and provocative sexy star, Linda Lovelace, of the 70's film "Deep Throat"?

Both "Mean Girls" stars, Lindsay Lohan & Amanda Seyfried, are two choices but which one is better?

The infamous adult star of the year 1970's, Linda Boreman, or best known as Linda Lovelace, was cast off into a dark and perilous life. Though she appeared to be a sex-starved maniac who'd do all things easily as she pleases on film, Linda's off screen life was the opposite. Before her death from a car crash at the age of 53, Linda divulged all things personal of which included the harassment of her own husband, Chuck Traynor.

It's a dark role to portray and being caught up in a web of sexual harassment and assault is a far cry from all the other roles Amanda Seyfried has portrayed. It could have been an easy role if it were for Lindsay Lohan. Well, the role was hers originally before she backed out of it.

Lohan's commitments to her community service and therapy sessions may be the reason as to why she gave up the role. Though there are a few critics who started breathing a sigh of relief after finding out Lohan stepped down to play Lovelace, there are still Lohan-fanatics that are bitter over the fact that the blonde, Seyfried, bagged the role instead. Would this be the perfect revenge for Amanda Seyfried after having her then boyfriend, Dominic Cooper, involved with Lohan?

It's a bit childish if people would think that way. Director Jeffrey Friedman and Rob Epstein have their own reasons as to why they chose Amanda. Lindsay did give up the role so her fans should have nothing to say against the "Mama Mia" star.

Since Lohan backed out of "Linda Lovelace", will she be playing another famous Hollywood icon then? Sources say she's in talks for playing Elizabeth Taylor but then again, Lohan will have to compete against Megan Fox for it.
