Currently the toast of tech experts, HTC One will reportedly release a miniature version too, known for now as the HTC M4, to satisfy buyers who prefer to steer away from the current crop of mega-sized smartphones.

Courtesy of @evleaks and Phone Arena, a new image of the gorgeous-looking mobile phone was let out this week, showing off an HTC handset that closely resembles of the warmly accepted HTC One.

In every respect, the device is the One reincarnated though in scaled down rendition, the report said.

The One reaped praises for being a 1080p device and HTC intends to achieve the same effect but in a tamer fashion so the M4 is a tad lower at 720p with a screen size of 4.3-inch, a front real estate that pits it directly against the iPhone 5S and the Galaxy S4 Mini.

Providing the muscle for the equally attractive HTC device is a dual-core, probably of Snapdragon make too like its big brother has, the speed of which remains unspecified.

According to @evleaks, the M4 will rollout with 16GB of built-in memory and a battery with a 1700mAh rating. Its snapping prowess will pretty much flash the one we've seen on the One, which is 4MP UltraPixel plus some cool camera apps and functions.

The main reason for the M4 release is to take on the Galaxy S4 Mini and the iPhone 5S as well as all three handsets are within the same screen size range and capabilities, the same report said.

Samsung has hinted that its smaller GS4 is likely to debut on June or July. The release date for the HTC One Mini, on the other hand, remains tentative at the moment but @evleaks offered some clue - it will hit the U.S. shores soon via AT&T.

When and at what price, no one can tell at the moment. What's quite sure is the smaller HTC One will run on the same Android version that powers its bigger kind with the same leaner but meaner Sense 5 skin that HTC introduced with its nee flagship.
