The Battle of Waterloo: Pillow Fights This Time, Video Goes Viral on YouTube
A number of pillow fights which occurred in the University of Waterloo may sound like just another kid's play for some, but Zaid Tahir and Mickey Areibi thought otherwise. They captured the video of pillow fights in the university campus and uploaded it on YouTube. The rest, as they say, became history as the apparently useless video has gone viral on YouTube.
It was just another stressful day for Tahir and Areibi who thought of opting for a stress buster in the form of a pillow fight. During exams, we admit, things can get really stressful. That is why no one can actually mind if they try to have a fight with a couple of innocent pillows. People have seen wrestling, football, cricket and many other sports. On the other hand, when this unique 'game' appeared on YouTube, people started showing an uncanny soft corner for the video which eventually became viral.
Tahir explains that he just wanted to relieve stress. Additionally, he has also wanted to make people feel that the university is not the perfect place where only education takes place. A university, according to the young man, is also a place to have fun. That is exactly what he meant to show in the video.
The video shows Tahir facing the camera as Areibi prefers staying behind the lens. Both of them attempted to provoke strangers to have a pillow fight with them. They approached people in classrooms, hallways, elevators and washrooms. The video was made and then uploaded on YouTube on Dec 7. Since it was a Saturday, being a weekend, people are more likely to be online; the video was viewed and liked in a frantic pace. It has already reached over 600,000 hits. According to Areibi, the countdown has already begun as he expects the video to reach a million views within a single month.
One must admit that the pillow fights featured in the video are definitely spontaneous as well as humorous. If you are not among those 600,000 people who have already watched it, you may watch it here:
