‘Battlefield 1’ beta end date announced, map list leaked
“Battlefield 1” fans are already enjoying the open beta for the EA DICE’s new game. However, the battle will still last for quite a while, as the developer confirmed the end date for the beta.
“The war’s not over yet. The ‘Battlefield 1’ Open Beta will end on Thursday, September 8,” said the developer over the official Battlefield Twitter.
Given the few more days for the beta, fans may want to make the most out of it since there’s also a “Battlefield 1” Beta Dog Tag or those who are able to reach some milestones in the open beta. According to the official blog, players should complete an in-game mission, rank up to level 15 and play on four different days during the beta run to be eligible.
Apart from the dog tag, which will be available once the game launches, the “Battlefield 1” open beta will let players take the game for a spin in the Sinai Desert map. These includes fights in the cliffs, the streets of Bir el Mazar village and the sand dunes on while on horses.
Just recently, the developer has also confirmed that it will be taking the beta on a simulated stress test, to prepare it for the launch. Players have been warned that there may be some downtime during the stress test, but this is ultimately to ensure that the game is ready once it launches.
Other fans have dug into the files and seen some possible maps with names, seen over at Reddit. Among these are St. Quentin Scar, Amiens, Empire’s Edge, Monte Grappa, Argonne Forest, Chateau, Suez and Sinai Desert there is one unnamed map, and what appears to be a wild card map.
Of course, the list is far from final or official. It’s still likely that the developer will make some changes following the beta. What’s good about the leaked images is that it suggests some variety among the maps. Empire’s Edge looks set on a floating army ship. The name of Argonne Forest speaks for itself in terms of location. Monte Grappa is set in a mountain ridge. And St. Quentin Scar looks like it will possible have some form of airship battles.
