'Battlefield 1' gets a new trailer, new Collector’s Edition with surprising contents
Fans who are thinking of getting “Battlefield 1” will have to make a decision if a newly released edition is worth it. The game will have a Collector’s Edition, which is priced at US$130 (approx. AU$170).
The catch is that, even though the Collector’s Edition is over US$100, it does not even include the game. The “Battlefield 1” Collector’s Edition is an Amazon exclusive.
Seen below, the image shows the contents of the bundle. There’s the 14-inch statue, an exclusive Steel Book, cloth poster, deck of playing cards, a messenger pigeon tube with exclusive DLC content, exclusive patch and premium packaging.
There is another version of the Collector’s Edition, which includes the game, and it sells for US$190 (approx. AU$250).
At the get-go, the “Battlefield 1” Amazon Exclusive Collector’s Edition seems like a ridiculous idea as it does not include the game. However, given how publishers are offering several kinds of editions bearing different content, this is a nice way to get exclusive items without having to buy another copy of the game.
EA and DICE have previously announced the Early Enlister Deluxe Edition for US$80 (approx. AU$105). This is not a bad buy since its main features include early access to the game on Oct. 18, three days before launch.
Additionally, the Early Enlister Deluxe Edition gives the Hellfighter Pack, which has themed items inspired by the Harlem Hellfighters, the Red Baron Pack, with items inspired by the flying ace of the German air force and the Lawrence of Arabia Pack, which introduces weapons and items from the diplomat who had a role in the Arab Revolt. This edition also has 3x vehicle skins for the largest vehicles in the games and 5x Battlepacks to help players prepare for battle.
“Battlefield 1” fans can opt to buy this over the game-included Amazon Collector’s Edition, given the three packs and skins included. The US$20 (approx. AU$26) difference may count a long way on the battlefield.
EA and DICE have also released a new trailer for “Battlefield 1,” which can be viewed below. In the trailer, fans can see how some of the weapons were designed for “Battlefield 1.” There is a huge mix of weaponry in the game, including guns and melee weapons.
DICE also put in a lot of research on the weapons, from the sound to the feel of each one. As can be seen in some of the gameplay footage, the sound and detail can be seen in the weapons. According to the developer, the goal was not to recreate the past experience, but to use it as an inspiration for “Battlefield 1.”
“Battlefield 1” will be out on the PS4, Xbox One and PC on Oct. 21.
