'Battlefield Hardline' vs. 'Destiny': Community’s Most Wanted for Competitive MP and New Trailer Revealed
Despite the delay that "Battlefield Hardline" is experiencing, this does not stop the developers from giving fans a glimpse of what's happening with the title.
In its latest blog post over at the Battlefield Blog, lead multiplayer designer Thaddeus Sasser takes the stage to reveal a few details about the competitive multiplayer for "Battlefield Hardline."
The Rescue mode, which is the hostage multiplayer mode, features three minutes of the SWAT team trying to gain access to the hostage for a rescue mission. This mode is extra challenging since respawns are not allowed and dead really means dead for players.
DICE has added the touch of audio and sound as a way of giving the mode another layer of depth. There's an advantage to using your sense of hearing, as a split-second may be all that it takes to win the fight.
"Sound plays a critical role in this mode - listening for enemies as they move or reposition can give you that split-second advantage you need that makes the difference between winning the fight - or losing and sitting out!" Sasser said.
Strategy with doors is also another addition, as its use can range from keeping track of the sound of doors opening and closing to utilizing it as a trigger for explosives.
Lastly, interactive objects have been added for tactical use. The list includes ammo lockers, radios, defib pickups and a range of objects that may take destructible environments to a new level of tactical play.
All of these are currently being planned and optimized, with DICE revealing that they have a competitive team looking into the mode to ensure the challenge and pace is just right for when "Battlefield Hardline" gets launched.
A New Trailer for Destiny
Bungie has also revealed a string of new gameplay trailers offering glimpses of exploration sites.
The latest of these reveals is Venus, which the developer has described to be a "paradise" before it was lost and became a monument for what has been lost.
In the trailer, you can witness battles with enemies and even warships as well as the view seen from the exploration of the site.
