Ben Stiller Says Paris Fashion Week Debut For 'Zoolander 2' Was Intimidating
The catwalk was intimidating for Derek Zoolander aka Ben Stiller. The actor spoke about his experience of walking the runway at the Valentino Fall Winter 2015-2016 show earlier this month at Paris Fashion Week to announce "Zoolander 2". Stiller who brought to life model Zoolander on the big screen was speaking at the premier of his new film “While We’re Young”, according to E! Online.
Looking back on the catwalk, he said that he still couldn’t believe that he had actually done it. He said that he or Owen Wilson his co-star who plays the character of Hansal McDonald had never walked down the ramp before. Stiller admitted that though the Valentino show was surreal and kind of exciting, it was an intimidating experience, even with Wilson by his side.
“You don't want to trip. It's like Green Mile,” he said. He added it’s like you just need to finish off, but at the end there are only starving models waiting for you, but was an intense experience for the actors. “Zoolander 2” scheduled for release in February 2016 and Penélope Cruz and Will Ferrell are also slated to star in the highly anticipated sequel.
Stiller had flown from Rome, where he is shooting for the sequel for the premier. He informed that he has been working on the script for the past 10 years and didn’t reveal whether the sequel would be funnier than the cult comedy film Zoolander (2001). Saying that it is for the audience to judge, he added that he was trying to incorporate things that people liked from the earlier film and making the new one into an individual entity in itself.
Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson made a surprise appearance at the Valentino show in PFW on March 10. When the two came together at the centre of the runway and Owen puckered his mouth the ‘blue steel’ way, the audience went into a tizzy. Both the actors were dressed in Valentino. They also did a photoshoot for the designer label in front of the Eiffel Tower in Paris. [Watch The Video Here]
