Victoria's Secret Angel Karlie Kloss To Make Her Acting Debut In 'Zoolander 2'
There is speculation in the media that Victoria's Secret angel Karlie Kloss is ready to make her acting debut in “Zoolander 2.” The sequel of the fashion industry based film was announced on the Valentino autumn/winter 2015 runway at the Paris Fashion Week on Tuesday. “Zoolander 2” is scheduled to hit theaters in February 2016.
A source close to the production revealed exclusively to E Online that Karlie is considered for the role in the sequel after model Gigi Hadid apparently turned it down. Karlie has reportedly ended her career as a Victoria's Secret angel and enrolled herself in a course at the New York University. Karlie told U.S. Vogue in a previous interview that ending her career as an Angel does not mean she is slowing down. The 22-year-old said she is highly “ambitious” and has a “lot of career goals” in mind.
Other models considered to appear in “Zoolander 2” flick include Naomi Campbell, Cara Delevingne, Jourdan Dunn and Alessandra Ambrosio. Cara also posted a picture on her Instagram where she is standing in between director Ben Stiller and actor Owen Wilson. “I'm pretty sure there's a lot more to life than being really really ridiculously good looking... And I plan on finding out what that is!,” Cara wrote on her Instagram profile on March 10.
Actors Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson will play the characters of Derek Zoolander and Hansel McDonald respectively in the upcoming film. The duo walked the Valentino runway in style as the crowd cheered them. They also grabbed “Vine” star Jerome Jarre's cellphone for clicking a selfie and then posed with Vogue editor Anna Wintour for the pictures, according to E Online.
“Zoolander 2” will be released fifteen years after the successful release of “Zoolander” and will reportedly follow Derek Zoolander's story, as he reinvents himself. The script for “Zoolander 2” is written by Jennifer Aniston's fiancé Justin Theroux. The film is a comic satire on the fashion industry. The reps for Karlie did not confirm the news of her debut in the film.
