The latest leaked benchmark has hinted Samsung Galaxy S5 may be one the smartphones you should watch out for as it may pack some of the best specs and features.

According to the latest benchmark results posted on GFXBench, Samsung Galaxy S5 will be equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8974 clocked at 2.5 GHz. Since it is faster than the 2.3GHz limit of the Snapdragon 800, it could mean that the handset will be using Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 805 chip.

Another feature revealed by the benchmark is an astonishing screen display with 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution. If Samsung will pack the same 5-inch display of Galaxy S4, it will deliver 587 pixels per inch. However, it is also possible that the Galaxy S5 will pack a larger screen display as upcoming devices are rumored to come with 560ppi in 2014. According to Android Authority, the Galaxy S5 may come with 5.25-inch screen.

The successor of Samsung Galaxy S4 will run with Android 4.4 KitKat OS, which is the first Samsung device to sport the software and before other smartphones received the Kitkat OS update. With all of the power-hogging features mentioned, the handset will need a long-lasting battery life.

Rumors claimed that Samsung Galaxy S5 will pack 64-bit processor as Samsung and ARM confirmed that it will soon launch a 14 nm 64-bit Exynos 6 CPU chips in 2014. Other possible features of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S5 are 16MP ISOCELL camera and 2,560 x 1,440 WQHD and 560 ppi resolution. The handset may also come with a long-lasting 4,000 mAh battery life.

Other reports claimed that Samsung Galaxy S5 will not be an Android smartphone and will pack a different mobile software. The smartphone may run with a combination of Tizen OS and Firefox OS ditching Android 4.4 KitKat OS. Samsung's Chief Secretary Wonsuk Lee said that Samsung is working on its relationship with the makers of the operating systems.

Samsung Galaxy S5 release date is still unconfirmed with rumors saying the possible launch date will be early next year while other reports noted the device is bound to arrive in the second half of 2014.
