The Gold Master (GM) version of iOS 7 is likely set for test drive on Sept 5, a new report said, but prior to that the sixth beta build will be seeded to developers on Aug 26, pretty much keeping with Apple's beta release cycle for its new mobile platform.

According to BGR, the sixth instalment of iOS 7's incomplete but working version is going out next week, likely to become available for developers to download on Monday, which is the usual day that the beta edition becomes live, per the previous six releases.

The usual bug fixes and enhancements are packed with the latest build but the more exciting prospect to be tipped by the iOS 7 beta 7 arrival is the GM outing, which the same report said will happen some 10 days after or roughly a week before the supposed unveiling of the iPhone 5S and the iPhone 5C.

The iOS 7 GM build is significant as Apple watchers believe it reflects what the final version would be - inside and out or interface and coding all factored in. Of course, minor software glitches could remain nagging the new iPhone, iPad and iPod operating system but stability is almost 100 per cent.

And with the mobile OS nearing completion, killer features for the 5S and 5C are becoming more defined and some of them are listed below.

Enhanced camera app

Not only that the iPhone native cam shooter will get hardware boosts via the 5S (said to be 12MP on main and 5C (8MP), in iOS 7 it is given filter functions that obviously take page from Instagram. And like the popular social media-centric shooting application, Apple engineers have made it easier for iPhone users to point, shoot and share what they produce to the rest of the world.

Revised interface

Simplified icons and flat graphics are the new hallmarks of iOS 7, which according to Apple is more straightforward mobile computing that eliminates the clutters and underscores what is essential to amusing and equally productive gadget use. Creating a sense of 'living space' is the core of the platform redesign while adhering to the philosophy that simplicity is beauty.

Expanded and smarter Siri

The popular Apple PDA in iOS 7 got a major make-over. Not only that users can select a female or male voice, Siri's functions also includes voice controls for normal device settings such as adjusting screen brightness and turning off Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity options. Of course, Siri can still be summoned to answer even the silliest question like: "Which is better, Apple or Samsung?"

New mail and messaging experiences

Mail in iOS 7 gains a new interface that makes it cleaner to look at and easier to navigate through, which is further enhanced by the new gesture controls that work in tandem with more advanced hardware sensors to come with the iPhone 5S. Also, has been reconfigured to behave like a full-pledge social media app, with a notable ability to add user pics on conference chats. The overall look was adjusted too to match that of the seemingly stripped-down but still sexed-up iOS 7 appeal.

A new Safari in looks and features

Among the mobile browser players, Safari lags behind Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox. Apple aims to change that on iOS 7 by visualising its tab functions, unifying the search bar and making it smarter and providing for a fullscreen mode both in the portrait and landscape mode.

Fresh App Store environment

For majority of gadget users, app is the centre of the universe. Fully aware of that fact, Apple has revamped two key functions of the App Store, making it easier for iPhone owners to discover new and cool apps. Once downloaded, users can simply use and forget as the application will automatically update on future versions minus the bother and big thanks to the new iOS 7.
