BFI London Film Festival: Benedict Cumberbatch attends 'Black Mass' premiere with wife Sophie Hunter
Benedict Cumberbatch and his wife Sophie Hunter attended the premiere of “Black Mass” at the BFI London Film Festival on Sunday. The couple looked very much in love with each other as they joined the likes of Johnny Depp while walking the red carpet for the event. The couple could not keep their eyes off each other as they made an entry together.
Cumberbatch looked dapper in a midnight blue suit and trouser combination. The British actor paired his outfit with a crisp white shirt, matching tie and a white pocket square. The 39-year-old actor finished off his look with black lace-up shoes.
His wife Hunter looked stunning in a chic white gown. The sleeveless white confection is part of Christian Dior’s fall 2015 Haute Couture collection, Mirror UK reported. The floor-length number featured billowing silhouette. The high neck dress’s bodice was embellished with metal lattice work, which gave it a boho-inspired look.
The theatre director’s hands were tucked into her pockets. Her dark tresses were styled into an up ‘do’ with the fringes framing her face. The 37-year-old looked beautiful without any make-up except for a slick of lip gloss and she flashed a huge smile as she posed with her man.
Meanwhile, Depp also attended the festival along with his wife Amber Heard. The 52-year-old actor and his 28-year-old wife opted for an all-black look for the film festival, Mirror UK reported. The blonde beauty opted for a black lace and satin dress, which she teamed up with matching high heels.
She accessorised with a black box clutch and gold jewellery. Her make-up was kept simple with pale pink lipstick. She also flashed a red manicure.
Depp plays gangster James “Whitey” Bulger in the movie, which explores the gangster’s reign as the boss of the Irish-American underworld and the connections he forged with the FBI, Reuters reported.
Earlier, Cumberbatch and Hunter were “delighted” to announce the news of the birth of their baby boy, reported Mirror in August. At that time, Cumberbatch’s rep had confirmed: “ Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter are delighted to announce the arrival of their beautiful son,” adding that they would request everyone to respect the family’s privacy during the next few weeks.
The actor and his theatre director wife had tied the knot in a private ceremony on Feb. 14, Valentine’s Day, on the Isle of Wright in England. The intimate ceremony was held in front of family and friends, including Cumberbatch’s “Sherlock” and “The Hobbit” co-star Martin Freeman.
