It’s “Big Brother Australia” housemate Jade’s birthday! And the faceless voice himself greeted the model from Ballina a happy birthday in Italian. But first, eviction nominee swap! Tahan made an impromptu decision to save one nominee and throw a Safe housemate to the firing line.

When Big Brother said that the list of nominees – Jade, Drew, Sharon, Mikkayla, Jasmine, and Tim – isn’t final yet, he wasn’t kidding. As host Sonia Kruger revealed to the audience, he meant to swap one housemate from the Safe house with a nominee, and that’s exactly what he did… with Tahan’s help.

Ben, who got hired as BB’s personal assistant the day before, took a phone call from the man himself. He was instructed to hand over the phone to another housemate who would make an important decision. Since Tahan is the closest in proximity to him, he chose to pass the phone to the dark-skinned beauty from Victoria.

Needless to say (just look at her priceless reaction!), Tahan was shocked when BB instructed her to switch one nominee with a Safe housemate. It was a phone call that she obviously didn’t want to answer but must. After a moment of hesitation, she chose to save Mikkayla from the Halfway house and replace her with Heidi.

It was perhaps the most logical choice since Heidi tied with Tim for being the sixth nominee (Mikkayla just chose Tim over her) and Mikkayla has had more than a week of stay in the Halfway house already. It’s just fair that Mikkayla gets to experience luxury in the Safe house until her fellow housemates nominate her again.

Tim didn’t think Tahan saved Mikkayla because of their friendship. He thought she did it because she saw Mikkayla as the least competition for her. It was an honest observation, which Tahan said as much to Big Brother, but it appears that Tahan really liked Mikkayla.

Tahan didn’t vote for Mikkayla (she voted Sharon for 4 points for personality reason, and Ed for 1 point for strategic reason), and she also defended her fellow Halfway housemate from Tully one time when the social media strategist complained that Mikkayla always butted in conversations.

Meanwhile, Mikkayla, perhaps feeling a little guilty that she was saved, said that she deserved to be in the Halfway house since she had the most nomination points.

As for Heidi, she took the swap harder than Mikkayla did when she found out she got the most points. The 29-year-old radio announcer confided to Tim that she had always been the popular kid so it was difficult for her to take her nomination well.

In happier news, Jade, who was automatically nominated, celebrated her birthday in the house. The now 23-year-old barmaid and model got to celebrate her birthday with a dinner party with all of the housemates. Big Brother even greeted her in Italian, in which she is fluent, and imparted a message from Jade’s dad.

The day before, Tahan and Rohan played Big Brother’s game in the diary room for their dinner. Well, Tahan played, staying in the ice-cold bath tub as long as she could. But Rohan didn’t want to risk the cold, even if it meant his dinner. So in the end, Tahan was able to win everyone a nice dinner, but Rohan only got to eat canned chicken.
