“Big Brother Australia” housemate Mikkayla really has nine lives! She has been saved for the third time, thanks to one self-sacrificing housemate. Also, Tully has declared mutiny against Tim!

Showdown time on Wednesday night (aired Thursday), and Tim proved to be one cunning contender in the BB arena. The final game for the night saw university students Tim and Drew going head to head in a game of dress-up, and Tim was crowned the King of Showdown Mountain in the end.

As the winner, Tim had the power to choose which nominated and safe housemates he would like to swap positions. And in an unexpected twist that Big Brother has nothing to do about, Tim chose to sacrifice himself and save Mikkayla.

But Tim’s self-sacrifice wasn’t seen as unselfish by the housemates. On the contrary, they thought it was very strategic on his part, and they weren’t happy about it.

As Heidi told Ed, “He [Tim] believes he’s stronger than all of you. It’s a psychology game for him.”

But no one was angrier by Tim’s apparently self-serving gesture than Tully, who declared war against Tim. She swore to Big Brother in the Diary Room that she would fight Tim if she survived the eviction on Monday.

Tully said she’s angry that Tim was manipulating them. But perhaps there’s more to her anger than just that?

She’s the one who picked Mikkayla from four other housemates tied for sixth place nomination. And she’s always upset when Mikkayla gets saved, first when Tahan saved the school teacher from nomination, when Mikkayla saved herself during the second eviction week, and when Mikkayla escaped eviction.

What’s Tully’s problem with Mikkayla, really?

As Tully confided to Jade, now that Mikkayla’s out of the firing line, she fears that all of them, save for the “popular” Tim, are now vulnerable for eviction. She told Jade that Mikkayla was their best bet to go on eviction night, thereby saving them all. And now that Tim has ruled her out, they’re all fair game.

If only Tully knew that Mikkayla had relatively high score last eviction night, she wouldn’t feel as confident to be nominated alongside her.

Ironically, the social media strategist is the most unpopular housemate on social media. In fact, based on the comments of viewers on the Big Brother official Facebook, viewers are fed up of Tully and her constant whining and crying.

It doesn’t help that she has a girlfriend outside the house but she keeps snuggling with Drew. Even the housemates have noticed their unusual closeness, some of them calling their touching already inappropriate.

“It’s cheating, 100 per cent,” Caleb said of Tully and Drew.

But will she get the boot on Monday? As people are voting for the housemates they want to save and not for the one they want to get rid of, she might escape eviction once again if other housemates’ supporters are not too adamant in voting for them.

As for Tim, he clearly knows he’s popular with viewers. That or he’s just truly gutsy. But from the looks of it, his confidence wasn’t misplaced. He started out as the one who annoyed people with his too loud attitude and refusal to share food with the Halfway housemates, but he quickly became a crowd favourite because he’s simply entertaining. And the most recent stunt he pulled, in which he saved Mikkayla and walked straight into the firing line, that has just garnered him more followers because people knew he did that just so Tully would get evicted next.

With all this hullaballoo between Tully and Tim, it’s Drew who’s stuck in the middle. As a friend to both, Drew couldn’t choose sides. Tully wanted him to beat Tim at his own game, but Drew didn’t really see Tim as an enemy. He even told Big Brother that he admires his fellow student for how he plays the game.

Before the Showdown, Heidi and Jade played Snakes and Ladders in a bid to win the house a gourmet dinner. But instead of the ordinary board game, Big Brother has his own version of the classic game, with a real snake!

Heidi was visibly shaking when the snake was put on her shoulders while Jade answered BB’s questions to move up the ladder. Jade wasn’t Heidi’s best friend in the house, but perhaps she had a change of heart during the game.
