"Binders full of women" became a popular meme tag after U.S. republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney answered a question about unequal pay in US workplaces.

During a town-hall presidential debate, a woman asked about unequal pay in the U.S. human resources.

Romney went down memory lane and said he exerted effort to hire women to help in his state cabinet and join his senior staff.

"I went to a number of women's groups and said, 'Can you help us find folks,' and they brought us whole binders full of women," Romney said. And just like that, social netizens picked up the phrase and a flood of memes circulated the internet.

On Tumblr, a dedicated blog has been put up for all "binders full of women" memes. The blog was put up by Twitter user @MrPooni. The blog description says, "Chronicling the infamous binders of Mitt Romney."

Images of popular fiction characters such as Dumbledore of the "Harry Potter" fame have figured in the roster of "binders full of women" memes.

Just a couple of weeks ago, Romney sparked 'Big Bird' memes when he said he is not willing to "borrow from China" to subsidize public broadcasting.

"I'm sorry, Jim, I'm going to stop the subsidy to PBS. I like PBS. I love Big Bird. I like you too," Romney told moderator and PBS newscaster Jim Lehrer.

One must admit, it is hard to be Romney right now. Avid users of meme generators are always on the lookout for the next phrases to mock.
