BlackBerry's peculiar phablet Passport is set for a September release. For those unfamiliar, the BlackBerry Passport can now be pre-registered. The device will come with a one-of-a-kind square design and a physical QWERTY keyboard. However, we now have the full and final specifications of the upcoming Passport.

The unique physical keyboard has the capability to double as a trackpad, also referred as touch-enabled keyboard. Specifically, the keyboard houses a 3-row physical key structure and an additional row of virtual keys that appear based on the context of the content being typed down. Also, the first three rows consist of letters. Hence there will be no punctuation marks or numerals on the physical keyboard. When a user types down an email, the "@" symbol would be part of the virtual key row. If the user tries to browse the internet, the context-based virtual keys will show a colon ":" symbol and a back slash "/", according to Phone Arena.

When it comes to specifications, the BlackBerry Passport features a 4.5-inch LCD square display with a unique screen resolution of 1,440 x 1,440 pixels and 453 ppi pixel density. The phablet will reportedly be powered by a quad-core (Qualcomm Snapdragon 800) processor clocked at 2.2 GHz and Adreno 330 GPU for graphics. The device will house a killer 3 GB of RAM. Under the hood, the BlackBerry Passport will run on BlackBerry 10.3 OS out of the box. The Passport is backed by a whopping 3450 mAh battery unit. The battery can provide up to 19 hours of talk time plus 8 hours of stand-by time, says N4BB.

Furthermore, the phablet comes with 32 GB of in-built storage capacity and microSD card slot for expansion up to 64 GB. The device weighs 194.4 g and it is 9.3 mm thick. As far as the camera goes, a 13 MP rear-facing camera unit with LED flash, auto focus and Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) and a 2 MP front-facing shooter with 3x digital zoom are housed. In addition, the Passport can be purchased in standard black or white shades and it supports nano-SIM.

Apart from supporting the standard connectivity options like Bluetooth v4.0, Wi-Fi, USB, LTE, the BlackBerry Passport also supports HDMI and NFC. Other salient specifications include Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, Back Side Illumination, 24-bit colour depth and 1:1 aspect ratio.
