Vietnamese publication Tinhte has shared a hands-on video featuring the BlackBerry Porsche Design P9982 handset that the company is reportedly working on. The leaked video shows the BlackBerry P9982 having a new premium design and a leather rear cover with the expected features and specs equivalent to the BlackBerry Z10.

The rumoured BlackBerry device is expected to have a 4.2-inch HD screen display with 1280x768p resolution, a dual-core 1.5GHz processor, 2GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage capacity that can be expanded through a microSD card slot similar to the BlackBerry Z10.

The cameras on the BlackBerry Porsche Design P9982 handset are expected as well to be identical with the ones on the BlackBerry Z10. It means there will be an 8MP rear-facing 1080p camera and a 2MP front-facing camera on the device.

According to the GSMArena report, the BlackBerry Porsche Design P9982 will run on the BlackBerry 10 operating system. "Nothing seems to have changed in the software department and it looks like the Porsche P'9982 will retain the regular flavor of the BB OS," the report reads.

The tech Web site further claims that the new BlackBerry Porsche Design handset could be officially launched before 2013 ends with a selling price at approximately $2000. BlackBerry is reportedly organizing an event before November 20 where the new BlackBerry phone could be announced.

Aside from the leaked images, a couple of FCC documents featuring the BlackBerry Porsche Design P9982 handset have also surfaced online. An interesting information indicated in the documents is the device's support for the AT&T HSPA and LTE bands.

The NDTV Gadgets report claims that the Canadian company has been talking to search engine giant Google to make the Google Play Store app marketplace land on the BlackBerry 10 soon. The report reads: "Google's Play Store app marketplace could soon land on BlackBerry 10, which would open the door to the world of Android apps for BlackBerry users, with direct install ability."

John Chen, BlackBerry's acting CEO, confirmed the information and stated that the company has no plans of shutting down the handset business operation. BlackBerry has declared that they are shifting their focus from devices to services as well as software aimed at the government and enterprise segments.
