It's Australia's turn to have a go at the BlackBerry Z10 as the launch event draws near and pre-orders for the handset are at the ready.

Online pre-orders are already in effect for Optus, and those who want to get their hands on the Z10 can pre-order until March 24. According to CrackBerry, shipping of the device starts on March 25th.

Optus offers a wide array of Plan costs, from the cheapest which is $30 and includes 200 MB data and a charge of $18 for the handset, to a $130 Plan, that comes with a 4000MB data and a free handset, reports LifeHacker. The list can be found in their official website.

A recommended plan is the $60 Optus Plan, which prices the handset at $6 per month on a 24-month contract, and provides users with unlimited local voice calls to other Optus mobile users, unlimited local SMS, a $650 eligible call card, and 1.5GB of data, reports TechGuide.

For its official launch on March 18, BlackBerry CEO Thorsten Heins will be coming to Australia together with local BlackBerry Australia's managing director Matthew Ball, reports Smart Company.

Telstra, another Australia mobile carrier, has also confirmed that it will carry the Z10, but pricing and plan offers are yet to be announced, reports Gizmodo.

However, neither carriers have given word on whether they will be carrying the Q10, BlackBerry's other BB10 phone, which has a physical QWERTY keyboard.

Vodafone Australia, on the other hand, has already confirmed that it will not carry either the BlackBerry Z10 or the upcoming Q10, reports ZDNet.

The Q10 is expected to launch by the end of April, though not all countries will get the model, reports TechRadar.

"We will soon start selling the Q10-by the end of April-in select markets," said Rory O' Neill, vice president for marketing EMEA at BlackBerry to Emirates247. "What we want to have is for our users to have a really robust typing experience, be in the qwerty Q10 or the full touch Z10."
