Blink 182 drummer, Travis Barker, has decided to quit marijuana after learning about his pre-cancerous esophagus condition due to bad diet and extreme pot smoking.

The band was forced to cancel shows last May when Barker was diagnosed with the disease called Barrett's esophagus. He was even hospitalised for an emergency tonsillectomy.

This sudden health scare has pushed the drummer to start living a clean life and be more cautious with what he takes in his body. He shared in his interview with Red Bulletin Magazine of the details of his current condition.

"They found that I had six ulcers, and I had a condition called Barrett's esophagus, which is basically from really extreme acid reflux or if you excessively smoked, your esophagus lining becomes pre-cancerous," Barker said.

He also admitted that he used to love smoking pot especially when he feels anxious.

"I always thought I'd be able to do that for the rest of my life, but when your health is on the line, you don't (mess) around. I love being a dad and I love playing music. I'm not trying to give up any of that," Barker expressed of his love for his family.

Last 2008, Barker also was traumatized when he survived a plane crash last 2008. But again, for the sake of his family and kids, he wants to overcome his own phobia of flying.

Hence, the drummer committed to joining the band's tour in Australia to fulfill his promise to his kids, Landon and Alabama. He said that if his kids would see him overcome his own fears of flying, then the two will also eliminate their own fears of riding an airplane.

Since the accident, the 36-year-old Blink 182 member has been taking sea transportation just to be with the band in their European tour.

So it seems that Blink 182 will soon pursue their Australian tour for the enthusiasm of their fans Down Under!
