There are few things sweeter to a gamer than scoring an early copy of a highly anticipated game. From Software’s upcoming PS4 epic, officially slated for release on March 24, is already out in the wild. In addition, the games’ developers share details on gameplay and talk about the title’s rock-hard difficulty.

As previously reported, “Bloodborne” officially went gold just a few days ago, but that hasn’t stopped one fortunate fan from getting their hands on early copies. A Canadian user named Rmchiva925 on the PlayStation Trophies forum managed to track down a copy. As noted by VG24/7, the game comes with an insert for another PS4 exclusive horror game, “Until Dawn,” by Supermassive Games.

Rmchiva925 reports that he’s been able to play multiple sessions of “Bloodborne,” often unable to put the controller down for periods of up to eight hours at a stretch. He’s been posting impressions on the forum, talking to fellow gamers about gameplay, difficulty and graphics.

Rmchiva925 states that game’s visuals appear to have improved since the alpha, but refuses to stream video, fearing that his account might be banned if he does. He states that he’s played all of the “Souls” games, beaten them and gained all the associated platinum trophies, but “Bloodborne” is proving quite a challenge.

On the subject of the game’s difficulty, game director Hidetaka Miyazaki spoke to MCV, confirming the existence of a New Game Plus mode similar to those found in the “Souls” series. Miyazaki said the New Game Plus mode would feature new monsters and items, presenting an even greater challenge to accomplished players. He also added that the dev team themselves are having a hard time beating the game mode.

Miyazaki was quick to point out that just because “Bloodborne” was difficult, it doesn’t mean the game is only for veteran players or gamers used to the “Souls” series. He says the team put a lot of effort into designing the game’s world and setting in attempt to draw new players in.

“As ‘Bloodborne’ is a brand new IP, we are not thinking about differentiating between new users and existing users, we have tried to design the game so all users can enjoy exploring the unknown areas like the world or story and learn combat strategies using transforming weapons and guns. However, in that sense, this game may be more interesting for new users as many of its features are still unknown to them,” he explained.

The wait is excruciating, but it won’t be long till gamers are officially able to walk into a store and pick up a copy of the game or download it from the PSN store. “Bloodborne” is scheduled for wide release on exclusively on PS4 on March 24.
