Blue ‘Motorola DROID Turbo’ Coming Soon To Best Buy For $199 Under Verizon Contract
Verizon started selling Motorola DROID Turbo smartphone recently and the handset is being offered in two hues namely black and red. In case, potential buyers have been waiting for the killer "blue" colour of the Turbo, here is your chance to get the device.
Reportedly, the blue Motorola DROID Turbo can be availed from Best Buy and not directly from Verizon. This handset with 32 GB of in-built memory will set the buyers back by $199 under a new two-year contract. The blue-coloured handset is listed in Best Buy's website as "coming soon," according to Phone Arena.
Apart from the colour difference, the blue-hued DROID Turbo from Verizon is a replica of the device released by Motorola and Verizon together in October. Unlike other recently released slim devices, the DROID Turbo is thicker at 11.2 mm. The reason for this thickness can be attributed to the humongous 3,900 mAh battery unit housed in the device, opines the same site.
Aside from the thickness, the Turbo is a power-house of a device for anyone looking to purchase a smartphone with cutting edge specs and features. This Motorola handset features a 5.2-inch Super AMOLED display, complemented by 1,440 x 2,560 pixels resolution. And this combination translates to a solid pixel density of 565 ppi. The phone is powered by the latest quad-core (Qualcomm Snapdragon 805) Krait 450 SoC, clocked at 2.7 GHz and the superior Adreno 420 for graphics. This under the hood configuration is held together by a killer 3 GB of RAM. On the software side, the handset runs on Android OS v4.4.4 KitKat. Nonetheless, there is a planned upgrade to version 5.0 Lollipop in the offing.
Speaking of camera, a 20.7 MP primary unit with dual-LED flash rules the rear and a 2 MP front-facing shooter completes the front side. It is worth noting that the 3,900 mAh battery unit is capable of providing up to a whopping 48 hours of 3G talk time and 675 hours of 3G stand-by time. Additional features include wireless charging facility, NFC, 4G LTE and Infrared port support. Moreover, the device comes as 32 GB and 64 GB variants with no microSD card support for expansion. Lastly, the DROID Turbo is water-splash resistant, even though it is not IP67/68 certified.
