‘Bound’ for PlayStation 4 revealed by Plastic Studios
A new game for the PS4 has been announced prior to the start of the PlayStation Experience, happening this weekend in San Francisco. “Bound,” a new title from Plastic Studios, will be the developer’s new title following its previous PS3 creations, “Datura” and “Linger In Shadows.”
This is the new title that Sony has been working with, as hinted by its previously filed trademark for “Bound” in October. The trademark was classified under computer game and video game software, Hardcore Gamer reported.
“Bound” is a collaboration between Plastic Studios and SCE Santa Monica, where the developers dubbed it as a “notgame” but certainly a game. Game Director Michal Staniszewski took to PlayStation Blog to explain some aspects of “Bound” as well as show a teaser.
The developer’s approach sees the game as appealing to those who prefer taking on hardcore challenges. At the same time, it also calls to those who want to explore further the storyline. Hardcore gamers are presented to a challenge of a big puzzle that can only be solved by the group of players working together. Story seekers can explore the game’s mature narrative. It is up to the players how they take it.
The art side of the game is based on Modern Art, taking its influence from art movements such as Concretism, Suprematism, Neoplasticism and Bauhaus. The accompanying soundtrack by Oleg “Heinali” Shpudeiko and concept of the game are also brilliant just like the artwork.
“Bound” is going to squeeze the best out of PS4 as the game will run at 60fps in 1080p. Furthermore, “Bound” promises to take advantage of the powerful features in the PS4. Staniszewski assured that the time they have spent in development is well spent in optimising the engine to deliver flawless, lag-free performance on PS4 and players are going to experience 3D platformer in a classic way.
For now, fans can treat themselves to the announcement teaser and some screenshot of the game. Plastic Studios has yet to specify a release date, but “Bound” is already listed on the PlayStation website. With the PlayStation Experience 2015 set to go on full swing this weekend, it’s not unlikely that some announcements may arrive.
