Levity aside, Mayweather's future as a boxing promoter could be at risk following the filing of a lawsuit by two amateur boxers featured in the All Access TV special that was a teaser to the Mayweather-Marcos Maidana rematch on Sept 13. That clip, which hinted that no-break fights running for half an hour was happening in Mayweather's gym, was the subject of an investigation by the Nevada State Athletic Commission which has the power to revoke Mayweather's promoter licence in the state.
The young boxers' lawsuit backs up the claim of Showtime who that Mayweather lied to the commission's probe that the no-break fight and another scene showing marijuana use in the mansion of Mayweather were staged for the sake of boosting pay-per-view buys to the Sept 13 rematch which Mayweather won.
