Alex Ariza claimed that Top Rank chief Bob Arum is deceiving boxing fans by telling a lie that the Manny Pacquiao versus Floyd Mayweather showdown will happen.

Reports have been rife that the blockbuster clash will finally happen, but the Pacman’s former conditioning coach, who is now a part of The Money Team, isn’t too impressed with the headlines as well.

“It’s not gonna happen. I mean, let’s not kid ourselves,” he told FightHype.com.

“Seriously…if the journalist actually did some real investigating journalism…they say they’ve agreed to everything...what? Is he coming out of the blue corner or the red corner? Is it Michael Buffer or Jimmy Lennon. Who’s coming out first, who’s getting announced first?”

“It’s so transparent, it’s almost clumsy.”

The Filipino boxer had been recently expressing his desire for the fight to finally take place, which he says is something that enthusiasts of the sport deserves. However, Ariza believes that it’s just all part of the show.

“I think it's really disrespectful to parade Manny through all this trivial radio sites that sit there and call out Mayweather,” he continued.

“It's sad. I mean, it's deceptive and to me, it's just straight lying what Bob Arum is doing.”

“To me, it's revolting that the fans have to sit there and get their hopes up for something that doesn't exist.”

To make the fight a reality, he pointed out that Pacquiao should leave Arum, who serves as the hindrance.

“Chavez Sr. said it too, if Bob Arum wasn’t involved [Pacquiao-Mayweather could have happened],” he added.

“You have to go back and look at history. You look at Oscar de la Hoya, he had to get away from Bob to get the big fights. You look at Miguel Cotto, Floyd Mayweather. Now you’re looking at Julio Chavez Jr., Mikey Garcia. You have to look at the history of this guy who is known for not being honest, not being truthful.”

“But you know what? You (media) guys perpetuate it, because you write the same vomit that he spews, and you guys lick it up and you write it instead of asking the hard questions. You’re telling us everything, but you’re showing us nothing.”
