Manny Pacquiao revealed that he might gun for re-election after his term as a congressman ends in 2016.

The boxing champion-turned-politician initially tried his luck in 2007 in his hometown of General Santos but was not fortunate, as he was defeated by an incumbent district representative. He then sought for a position in his wife’s turf – Saranggani Province – three years later, which he currently holds.

While some local officials have questioned Pacman’s commitment to serve as a legislator due to his glaring number of absences in Congress, the 36-year-old brushed such tirade aside, claiming that his sole purpose of seeking office is to lend a hand to his constituents above anything else.

“I love my position because I want to help people. I just want to help them, politics aside,” Pacquiao told FightHype.com.

“Helping them comes from my heart and I do it to the best of my capabilities…I even spend my own money.”

“I just do not announce whatever assistance that I might have lent.”

Speaking during the premiere of his movie-documentary entitled “Manny,” Pacquiao shared some of the things that helped him reach the top.

“Things that you can learn from this film are having faith in God, your relationship with him, working hard, having discipline, and to not take advantage of others,” he said.

“That’s what you need to be successful in life.”

Celebrities like Jeremy Piven, who is a part of the cast, along with Christina Milian, Chuck Liddell, and Sugar Ray Leonard were spotted at the TCL Chinese Theater in Hollywood. Models like Arianny Celeste, Abigail Ratchford, and Chantel Zales were also in attendance.

“I’m very happy because of the support shown not only by the Filipino community, but as well as numerous Hollywood celebrities who went out of their way and to support this event,” he added.

He also extended his appreciation to Liam Neeson, who played the part of narrator in the said film.

“Thank him because he is one of the persons who helped in making this movie-documentary possible,” he intimated.

“Actually, I just watched “Taken.”
