Britney Spears has professed she’s “in love” with the new man in her life.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight on US TV, Kevin Federline’s ex-wife gushed over David Lucado, she started dating in March 2013.

According to MTV UK, the “Baby One More Time,” singer described her new beau as stubborn, but loves him just the same.

"I'm in love... I like the fact that [he is] very stubborn and he's stuck in his ways," Spears, 31, said, said MTV UK.

The “Gimme More” singer continued focusing on what she likes about Lucado. "He's just a simple man. I adore him. He's really funny and he's really passionate. I love the fact that anything he's involved in he's passionate about and it's contagious," Spears added in the MTV UK report.

The mother of two confessed however that her dad, Jamie had run a background check on her new squeeze.

She added, "That is true. My dad's a little crazy like that." But Spears was not all about her new man as she made her pit stop at ET.

The “Hold It Against Me” singer also talked about her new album, “Britney Jean” which she described as her “therapy record.”

“I would say it was kind of like therapy for me,” Spears began as she explained her new album, according to MTV UK, before adding, "It just kind of transformed me. As you write something, your perspective changes. So it was like my 'good therapy record.”

The world knows the singer’s struggles and her much-talked about meltdown in 2007. It will be recalled that in February 2007, Spears entered a drug rehabilitation center in Antigua. She didn’t stay there more than 24 hours but what was more shocking back then was when she shaved her head after her one-day stint at the facility. Using an electric clippers, Spears was photographed shaving her head at a salon in Tarzana, Los Angeles.

"I'm an artist, so I think there are periods in everyone's life where you get kind of reclusive, your creative outlet is cut off. Then sometimes it flows and you're like, 'Oh my God, this is what I need to be doing', [which makes] it easier for you to be the artist that you want to be,” Spears said in the report by MTV UK.

Despite all the roller-coaster ride in her life, Britney Spears was declared by Forbes in 2012 as the highest paid musician of the year, with a recorded earnings of $58 million. A milestone for Britney who topped the Forbes list in 2002.

“Britney Jean” is the singer’s eighth studio album. It is set to be released by RCA Records on Nov. 29, 2013.
